AFRIN- The Martyr Ezzat Academy of Self-Defense Duty in Afrin canton opened on Tuesday, during a ceremony the 12th course on behalf of the Martyr “Ahmad al- Faraj, and 700 fighters of the Kurdish and Arab components joined it.
The head of the Foreign Affairs Body Suleiman Jaafar, the co-chair of the Legislative Council Hevin Rashid, the head of the Defense and Self-Protection Body’s deputy Dijla Hussein, representatives of civil institutions, and a number of the commanders in the People and Women Protection Units (YPG,YPJ) attended the inauguration ceremony.
The ceremony began with performing a military parade by the new joiners and holding a minute of silence. Then, the deputy of the Defense and Self-Protection Body Dijla Hussein spoke and congratulated the attendees, the Kurdish people, the martyrs of freedom and Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocelan on opening the twelfth course of Self-Defense Duty.
Dijla pointed out that the course’s task will be protecting the canton, and she stressed that they, as troops, will defend the canton with all their strength, and they are ready to repel any attack of the external forces against the canton.
After that, the participants swore the military oath.
in addition, The opening ceremony ended with dancing in rings by the fighters with the revolutionary and folkloric songs.
The course will last for 40 days, during which, the participants will undergo intellectual and military lessons.
