KOBANÎ– 200 Syrian Democratic Forces fighters, aiming at partaking al-Raqqa liberation campaign, have headed to the battlefields in al-Raqqa after finishing a course of training in the Şehîd Feisal Abu Leila Military Academy.
Syrian Democratic Forces have led a campaign to retake al-Raqqa since November 2016 to liberate the countryside of al-Raqqa city, and on June 6 of the present year, another campaign was initiated to liberate al-Raqqa city from IS gangs.
As the campaign advances more and more, fighters continue joining al-Raqqa campaign after graduating from SDF’s academies.
In this context, 200 fighters from al-Raqqa have finished a course of training in Şehîd Feisal Abu Leila Military Academy under the name of Şehîd Ali Jihan.
The graduation ceremonies were held in Şehîd Feisal Abu Leila Military Academy where SDF commanders and fighters were present, after a minute of silence was held, military parade was performed by the graduates.
SDF commander Xeyrî Muhamad then delivered a speech assuring that the victories achieved in Rojava cities are the outcome of martyrs’ sacrifices, the coexisting peoples’ unity and the blood that mixed fighting terrorism.
Xeyrî assured that al-Raqqa city where SDF is daily advancing is about witnessing an imminent overwhelming victory, Xeyrî said addressing graduates” thanks to you, peoples are living today in peace and stability”.
Xeyrî concluded saying that the Syrian Democratic Forces will fight terrorism wherever it existed.
Speeches delivered, SDF fighters swore the military oath to protect Rojava territories and preserve the achievements made by the martyrs’ sacrifices on the basis of democratic nation and fraternity of peoples.
Şehîd Ali Jihan’s course was the 16 by Şehîd Feisal Abu Leila Military Academy since its opening.
According to commanders in the academy, they have trained till now 3,500 fighters who joined the ranks of SDF.
