AFRIN- Hundreds of residents of Afrin canton have commemorated the third anniversary of the martyrdom of 4 fighters from the People’s Protection Units YPG at the Martyr Rafik Shrine in Matina village.
The four strugglers are Ezzat Kour Abdo, and Hanan Mohamed Rachid, Nom de guerre is “Heybet, Omar Wahid Marsol, Nom de guerre is Omar and Hassan Mohammed Sattem whose nom de guerre is “Zinar ” where representatives of civil society institutions and the Democratic Society Movement TEV-DEM, the people and women, the families of the martyrs, fighter of People’s Protection Units (YPG), Kongra Star and the members of the communes participated with the people in the commemoration ceremonies.
The commemoration ceremony was begun by a minute of silence, after which the co–chair of the Martyrs’ Families Institutions in Shara district Adnan Simo, said: “With revenge, we will eternalize the martyrs of the resistance and commemorate them that they broke IS mercenary thorn and liberated the region. Those martyrs were the basis for the launching of liberation campaigns in all parts of Rojava and North Syria. The sacrifices made by the children of Rojava are for the sake of freedom and victory for the people and for the creation of a free and dignified life, and to continue the struggle against obscurantist forces as mercenaries and advocates. “
In his speech, Simo reiterated the continuation of the struggle on the militant approach and the defense of the dignity of the people, and the achievement of co-existence and fraternity of peoples to thwart all conspiracies and schemes aimed at striking the gains of Rojava.
In turn, stressed the leadership of the People Protection Units (YPG) Rizan Ahmed, asserted the need to organize and escalate the struggle at all levels, and self-determination and free will to continue the approach of militants and rallying around the fighters and participating in the defense of the territories of Rojava.
He also spoke at the ceremony, the father of the martyr Zinar, Mohammed Sattem, and expressed his pride in the testimony of his son in order to defend their land, pledging to follow the footsteps of the martyrs to achieve a free and dignified life for all peoples of the region.
The commemoration ceremony concluded with a visit to the families of martyrs’ shrines at the Martyr Rafik Shrine, and chanting slogans calling for the lives of the martyrs and salute the struggle and resistance of the YPG and the people of Bakur Kurdistan.
