A delegation from the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (KNK) will meet today with the Islamic Group in Sulaymaniyah along the lines of the same delegation’s visit yesterday to the headquarters of the Change Movement to discuss the mechanism for activating parliament.
The Change Movement and the Islamic Group announced at a meeting last week, their position on the referendum, where he asked to postpone until the activation of parliament and resolve the financial and economic issues that afflict the people, and demanded transparent imports of natural resources.
For its part, the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) has been seeking to reactivate the parliament with the mediation of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (KNK) since the referendum scheduled for September 25 needs a parliamentary resolution.
The need for an effective Kurdistan Democratic parliament comes after the parliament was closed by the same party in the fall of 2015 because of the determination of the legislative institution to vote on a law for the presidency of the region ended since August 19, 2015.
According to the information, a delegation from the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan will visit today, the headquarters of the Islamic Group in Sulaymaniyah and will meet leaders of the group to discuss the issue of activating parliament.
The meeting of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan with the group comes in line with his meeting with the Change Movement yesterday.
