KANDAL SHEKHO, NEWROZ OTHMAN
AFRIN- The last battles that erupted between IS mercenaries on one hand and Hayet Tahrir al-Sham (Jabhet al-Nusra previously) mercenaries on the other hand raised the observers’ questions about the extent of Astana parties’ commitment to the agreements between them, and what might the case be in Adlib.
About two days, IS mercenaries suddenly appeared in the eastern countryside of Hama in an area known as a separated line between the mercenaries of Hayet Tahrir al-Sham and regime forces as IS mercenaries seized dozens of villages among them historic Ibn Wardan Palace from Hayet Tahrir al-Sham.
What shocked observers is the sudden appearance of IS mercenaries in that area that is about 150 km away from their nearest point east of Syria.
A video of Hama eastern countryside’s activists showed launching a convey from Aqirabat area that was held by IS mercenaries without determining destination. Some of our sources stated that the convey was IS mercenaries’ and that it headed towards the area where battles erupted between IS and Tahrir al-Sham.
IS mercenaries’ media outlets mentioned that they have seized the villages of al-Rahjan, northern Sarha, Om Kahef, Hasarat, Rasem al-Ahmar, al-Mestriha, Om al-Ghor, al-Maslukhiyah, al-Semaqiyah, al-Tufaha in addition to al-Zaroub, Jab al-Tabqaliyah, Abu Laffa, al-Nafila, Marijab, al-Jamalan and al-Shakossiyah valleys and Ibn Wardan Palace.
That was followed by Hayet Tahrir al-Sham mercenaries’ media outlets which stated that Hayet Tahrir al-Sham dominated again Ibn Wardan Palace and other several villages from IS mercenaries.
Hayet Tahrir al-Sham accused later each of the Syrian regime and Russia of holding agreements with IS mercenaries to transmit them with their heavy weapons from Aqirabat area east of Hama to areas held by them east of Hama.
Al-Salamiyah_Athariyah and Khanaser road that was held by regime forces has been separated Hayet Tahrir al-Sham areas from IS mercenaries’ areas in the eastern countryside of Hama.
It is probable that the two sides in that area would engage into clashes without passing through the areas held by regime forces.
In a relevant concern, a special source of Hawar news agency stated that Turkish schemes are being plotted to preserve Hayet Tahrir al-Sham (Jabhet al-Nusra) in coincidence with carrying out de-escalation agreements.
The source stated that Turkey would exit empty-handed from Syria as each of the US and Russia are dominating the Syrian state.
The special source also added that the regime would use IS as a threat against Turkey as if it shirked its promises of ending Hayet Tahrir al-Sham’s existence in the area. This means that Astana parties would apply their contract quite differently.
Hayet Tahrir al-Sham mercenaries also launched a campaign of haphazard arrestment as the arrestment targeted a number of people in Adlib city that spread a feeling of fear among the people according to local sources from the city.
The source also stated that Hayet Tahrir al-Sham claimed that they are searching for a number of regime’s spies in Adlib city.
