AL-HASAKAH – The head of the Preparatory Committee for the establishment of the Deir –ez-Zor Civil Council said that the purpose of their meeting is to form a special committee to hold meetings for the residents of Deir ez-Zor liberated areas in preparation for holding the constituent conference of Deir-ez-Zor Civil Council on September 20.
The Preparatory Committee for the establishment of Deir ez-Zor Civil Council held on Tuesday a meeting of notables and intellectuals in the city of Deir ez-Zor to form a committee to hold meetings of the people of Deir ez-Zor in the liberated areas and prepare for the establishment of Deir ez-Zor Civil Council in conjunction with the launch of al-Jazeera Tempest campaign by the Syrian Democratic Forces on September 9 to free the countryside of Deir ez-Zor.
During a meeting with the head of the Preparatory Committee for the constituent conference of the Deir ez-Zor Civil Council, Ghassan Yousef said “In coordination with the Syrian Democratic Council, we have invited all the sects in the Deir ez-Zor areas which were liberated by the Syrian Democratic Forces, to attend the meeting. Deir ez-Zor areas to attend the Deir ez-Zor civil conference to be held on 20 of this month. “
Yousef stressed that the discussion that took place in the meeting was about how to hold consultations for the people of the Deir ez-Zor area to include the largest number of people in the area. The aim is to form the Deir ez-Zor Civil Council at the conference that will be held on September 20, after concluding the meetings with the people of the liberated areas and listening to their opinions, suggestions and their demands.
Yousef added that at the meeting, a committee of 9 members was formed whose tasks will be to hold meetings for the residents of the liberated Deir ez-Zor areas to attend the Deir ez-Zor civil conference.
As for the main objectives of the formation of the Deir ez-Zor Civil Council, Yousef said: “The main objective of establishing a civil council for Deir ez-Zor is to establish Autonomous Administration in areas liberated by the Syrian Democratic Forces and to provide assistance to its people. The council will work to establish special camps for the Deir ez-Zor refugees as day by day, displacement increases towards the liberated areas and are now heading towards Mabrouka camp in district of Serî Kaniyê and Shadady district in the canton of al-Hasakah. “
