AFRIN- The member of the Executive Body of the Constituent Council of the Democratic Federation of North Syria Hevin Hussein has appealed to the people of the north of Syria to participate in the local councils’ elections and prove themselves again after the communes’ elections, which culminated in success.
Three federalism regions; the Euphrates, Afrin and al-Jazeera are about holding elections next month in the towns and districts and the cantons’ council to proceed towards the federal project in north Syria. In this regard, Hawar news agency held an interview with the member of the Executive Body of the constituent council of Democratic Federation of North Syria Hevin Hussein.
At the beginning of her speech, she said “the first steps of the success of the federal project are the elections.” She explained that the elections were the first of its kind in north Syria, and showed the extent to which the people responded to the project through their effective participation in the elections.
On the importance of the elections at the current stage, she added, “The importance of the elections at this sensitive time in which the north regions of Syria are going through is increasingly threatened by the forces opposing the project of democracy and peace.”
She pointed out that “the attacks of the Turkish state has increased on the territory of the region as the election approaches and is trying to thwart the federalism and create a kind of chaos to keep the people away from the ballot boxes and stand in the face of the principles of the democratic nation, and the latest attempts were spreading rumors about the deteriorating health of Ocalan.”

ended her appealing to the peoples of the North Syria, saying “all the peoples of the north of Syria should go to the ballot boxes to participate in the next election process to prove the will of the peoples of the region again after the process of electing the co-chairs of the communes that have been successful.”
