Hundreds of women go on sit-in in Qamishlo

QAMISHLO– hundreds of women in Qamishlo city are going on sit-in to denounce the isolation imposed on the Kurdish leader Ocalan and the Turkish occupation in front of UNICEF building in Qamishlo.

At the request of Star Conference and in occasion of International day of peace, hundreds of women from all cities in Jazeera canton went ahead toward the city of Qamishlo to hold a sit-in in front of UNICEF building to denounce the isolation that was imposed on the Kurdish leader Ocalan and the Turkish occupation of North Syria.

Women held photos of Ocalan and wore clothes with pictures of the leader, and held the flags of Star Conference, and a banner stating “freedom of the leader is women’s”.

It was expected that women give a statement in Arabic, Kurdish, Syriac and a copy of it would be sent in English to the United Nations.
