Lina Barakat: al-Raqqa voice must heard

AL-RAQQA- The spokesperson in the name of Syrian Women Council assured on the necessity of al-Raqqa women’s role in solving the Syrian crisis, and said “Women’s voice must be heard by everybody”.

The spokesperson in the name of Syrian Women Council Lina Barakat made it clear in an interview with Hawar news agency that they in the council would work on raising al-Raqqa women’s awareness after al-Raqqa city has been liberated from IS mercenaries.

Lina Barakat made it clear that women in al-Raqqa city were the first sacrifice during IS mercenaries’ domination on the city, and noted that al-Raqqa city women were exposed to all forms of physical and psychological violence and torture by IS mercenaries in al-Raqqa city.

The spokesperson in the name of Syrian Women Council noted that it is necessary for al-Raqqa women to play a role in solving the Syrian crisis assuring that their voice must be heard by everybody.

Lina Barakat also stated that they have future plans for al-Raqqa women, and in the beginning, they would organize all the women of al-Raqqa, and open courses for training them and raising their awareness in addition to opening economic projects, and supporting women in al-Raqqa to be able to restore their role in the society. Furthermore, Lina Barakat said “freedom remains unachieved unless women would be liberated”.
