NEWS SESK-The co-chair of Education Body in al-Jazeera canton Samira Haj Ali said that teachers’ participation in supervision of the elections is a moral duty. The elections are a major step towards democracy and free will. And they have prepared 18,000 teachers to supervise the elections.
The Northern Syrian Federation is preparing to hold the second phase of the elections on December 1 by electing local councils of cantons, towns and districts. Preparations include appointing supervisors of the electoral centers, where the teachers of the Education Body in al-Jazeera canton are assigned to do this task. Hawar News Agency met with the co-chair of Education Body in al-Jazeera region Samira Haji Ali to talk about the preparations by the commission for the appointment of teachers and supervising the electoral process.
Teachers participation in the elections is a moral duty
Samira noted that teachers’ participation in the election process is a moral duty and she added “We seek to support voters in the electoral process, especially as the elections include districts, town and cantons, so there are many boxes and lists. The participation of our teachers in the electoral process is our duty to build a free democratic society.
18 thousand of teachers are ready to participate in the elections
The co-chair of Education Body in al-Jazeera canton said that 18 thousand of teachers are ready to participate and oversee the electoral process, and said, “We in the Education Body and in coordination with the Electoral Commission we will distribute teachers on all ballot boxes in al-Jazeera canton, Samira Haj Ali pointed out that the teachers will participate in the counting of votes if asked to do so in coordination with the Electoral Commission, because their goal is to serve their people.
Samira said “In the sensitive situation in the region, the influx of people to the ballot box is the biggest revolution our people have achieved, and every successful election in the region is considered to be our greatest wealth, who said that the elections were a referendum for the people of northern Syria who drew resistance, heroism and sacrifice with the golden letters. Samira added our people must elect the right person and stay away from personal and clan interests. Today is an opportunity to prove to our people that they can manage all of their affairs and elections are a major step towards democracy and free will.
