AL-RAQQA- Fighters of Syrian Democratic Forces have liberated two villages and 17 hamlets from Daesh gangs north of al-Raqqa city within the Wrath of Euphrates campaign on Monday.
After a 15-day pause, the Wrath of Euphrates campaign to liberate al-Raqqa city from IS gangs was resumed on May 9th, till now many villages and hamlets have been liberated by the SDF fighters. In this context, Syrian Democratic Forces fighters moved on Sunday evening on 3 axes north of al-Raqqa liberating two strategic villages and 17 hamlets.
The 1st and 2nd axes have been launched northeast of the city, fighters headed towards Abdullah village, having been engaged in violent clashes, the village was liberated from IS gangs, as to the 2nd axis, 12 hamlets have been liberated, then the two axes met liberating an area of 47 km2.
The third axis moving from the northwest was launched on Sunday evening, and headed towards al-Kobra villages which lies northwest of al-Raqqa city, the village, 5 hamlets were liberated after fierce clashes, in addition, a strategic hill was liberated by the fighters.
During the clashes, dozens of the gangs were killed, but no precise information was obtained about the mercenaries’ mortalities.
Fighters then took to combing and searching the liberated area, and the mercenaries now are besieged in 5 villages in al-Hamra region.
