Women’s Art and Literature Festival to be started next month


QAMISHLO- Under the slogan” Women’s Art and Literature is a Guarantee for Democratic Nation” the 2nd festival of Women’s Art and Literature will be started by the beginning of next month with participation of women from Rojava cantons, Arabic and European states.    BERIVAN XALID

After intensive preparations, the 2nd Women’s Art and Literature Festival will be started in Muhamad Shiekho Hall in Qamişlo city under the slogan” Women’s Art and Literature is a Guarantee for Democratic Nation” under the auspices of Art and Culture Body.

The festival will be lasting for 3 days, different activities of folklore and fine arts will be held by Kurdish, Arabic, and Syriac women, literary works like poems, short stories will be included also in the festival, and handcrafts and a folkloric Kurdish costumes will be showed.

The first day schedule includes showing short films about women works in different fields during the past year, handcrafts and drawings gallery.

on the 2nd day of the festival, different artistic paintings will be exhibited, stories, literary articles and poems will be narrated.

On the 3rd and last day of the festival, a party will be held where musical bands will take part in, and women participating will be making a folkloric show, the festival will be concluded with distributing symbolic prizes on the participants by martyrs’ mothers.

In this context, the co-chair of Art and Culture Body in Cizîre canton Berivan Khaled said that they have undertaken intensive preparations for the 2nd Women’s Art and Literature Festival which is held in the context of March 8 celebrations activities.

Berivan noted that they have begun the festival’s preparations since the beginning of this month by communicating with Rojava, European and Arabic women, and assured that they are having good results, and said that women from many Arabic countries like Lebanon, Libya, Egypt, Amazigh and other European countries will be taking part in the festival.
